INSIDE/OUT'S ORIGINAL SONGS: The Lyrics and the Stories behind them.

Sometimes You’re Gonna Bleed
Written & copyrighted by Eddie L. Groves

My Daddy was a guest at the Hanoi Hilton
Thirteen months he spent there in that hell
He was beaten to a pulp, but still he wouldn’t talk
They’d just drag him back and throw him in his cell

Today he don’t talk much about those memories
And he keeps his Purple Heart put away
But I know he’s a hero, for all the pain he’s endured
But if you ask him about it this is what he’ll say

CHORUS:
Sometimes you’re gonna bleed
Fighting for what you believe
Regardless of the cost, you take a stand
For country and liberty
Or protecting your family
You got to realize, sometimes, you’re gonna bleed

Tom was my best friend back in high school
He was voted most likely to succeed
He got a job with the DEA, he took a bullet during a raid
And when I asked him about it this is what he told me
(And as we talked about it, so I know that he believe’s)

Repeat Chorus

Bridge:
A soldier lays in a hospital bed
And he stares down at his missing leg
That he lost in a roadside attack
Somewhere in Iraq
He’s not bitter and he’s not sad
He thinks of all the things he has
And to keep them you have to give back
Repeat Chorus

IT'S JUST A LOVE THING
Written & Copyrighted by Eddie L. Groves
(From the CD "Southern Fried Twang")

TONIGHT I'LL SURPRISE HER WITH ROSES AND WINE
WE'LL ORDER CHINESE AND EAT IT BY CANDLELIGHT
AND WHEN SHE ASK'S WHAT'S GOING ON
FOR IT'S NOT HER BIRTHDAY
I WILL TELL HER IT'S JUST A LOVE THING

CHORUS:

I JUST WANT HER TO KNOW
HOW MUCH I LOVE HER
SHOW HER IN WAYS
THAT I CAN'T SAY WITH WORDS
HOW SHE'S MADE MY LIFE SO RICH
JUST BY SHAIRING MY NAME
AND HOW GOOD IT CAN BE
WHEN IT'S JUST A LOVE THING

I'LL TAKE HER TO BED AND SEE HER GLOW IN THE MOONLIGHT
KISS HER WARM BODY SOFT AS A GENTLE RAIN
AND THE LOOK IN HER EYES THAT SHE GETS
DURING THAT MOMENT
TELLS ME EVERYTIME THAT'S IT'S JUST A LOVE THING
(Repeat Chorus)

Eddie Groves talks about how he wrote the song "Weekend Rendezvous""I wrote Weekend Rendezvous when line dancing was first getting popular",says Inside/Out's Eddie Groves. "We used to play at this club in Dayton,OH called BREAKERS and that's all they did was line dance. The first time we played the song there it instantly became a line dance favorite. We even had a few people wanting to choreograph a line dance for the song that we was going to call "The Rendezvous".

A few people think the song sounds like Lynard Skynard's Gimme Three Steps. Eddie explains;"I think that is just mostly because of the groove of the song and it's energy factor. Three Steps was the farthest thing from my mind when I wrote Weekend Rendezvous. I was mostly thinking about how both husband and wife have to work just to make ends meet these days and how hard it is to find quality time during the weekdays. Basicly it's about partying and getting laid the whole weekend".

MY LOVE IS LIKE DYNAMITE
Copyrighted by Eddie L. Groves
(From the CD "Southern Fried Twang")

Verse one:
I'VE BEEN TOLD SHE'S BUILT A WALL AROUND HER HEART
THAT'S CONSTRUCTED FROM BAD MEMORIES
FROM A LOVE THAT TORE HER APART
BUT THAT DON'T INTIMIDATE ME ONE BIT
BECAUSE I KNOW I'M GONNA MAKE HER MINE
'CAUSE MY LOVE IS LIKE DYNAMITE

Chorus:
AND I CAN MAKE THAT WALL COME TUMBLIN' DOWN
REPAIR HER HEART AND TURN HER LIFE AROUND
I'M GONNA LIGHT THE FUSE AND BLOW THAT WALL SKY HIGH
'CAUSE MY LOVE IS LIKE DYNAMITE

Verse Two:
IT WILL HAPPEN SO QUICK SHE WON'T KNOW WHAT HIT HER
AND WHEN THE SMOKE HAS CLEARED
I'LL TAKE HER IN MY ARMS AND HOLD AND KISS HER
AND WASH AWAY HER FEARS
I WILL SHOW HER THAT NOTHING WILL COME BETWEEN US
'CAUSE IF SOMETHING TRIES
I'LL BLOW IT AWAY JUST LIKE BEFORE
'CAUSE MY LOVE IS LIKE DYNAMITE.
Repeat Chorus

*WE'RE NOT PLAYING AROUND*
BY EDDIE L. GROVES
(From Inside/Out's web site on MP3.com)
VERSE ONE:
THE ENEMY'S UPON US
LIKE A THEIF IN THE NIGHT
THEY ARE HIDING IN THE SHADOWS
WHILE THEY MASTERMIND THEIR CRIMES
JUST FACELESS COWARDS WITH NO HONOR OR PRIDE

THEY HAVE KILLED THE INNOCENT
WHILE THIS NATION SLEPT
BUT NOW WE'RE WIDE AWAKE AND IT'S A SAFE BET
THERE IS GONNA BE HELL TO PAY
NOW THAT THEY HAVE WOKE THIS SLEEPING GIANT

CHORUS:
'CAUSE ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE
WE DIDN'T START THE BATTLE
BUT WE WILL DAMB SURE WIN THE WAR
THEY CAN RUN BUT THEY CAN'T HIDE
CAUSE WE WILL FIND THEM AND PUT THEM IN THE GROUND
'CAUSE THIS TIME WE'RE NOT PLAYING AROUND

VERSE TWO:
I'LL PUT MY LIFE ON THE LINE
IF THAT WHAT IT TAKES
AND WITH THE HELP OF GOD
WE'LL KEEP THIS COUNTRY SAFE
FROM THE DEMONDS WHO HATE OUR WAY OF LIFE

WE'VE TURNED THE OTHER CHEEK
SO MANY TIMES BEFORE
BUT NOW IT'S TIME FOR ACTION
TO EVEN UP THE SCORE
AND LET EVIL KNOW THAT GOOD WILL SURVIVE
(REPEAT CHORUS)

THE STORY BEHIND THE SONG: Eddie wrote "This Time Americas Not Playing Around" just days after the Terrorist attacts of Setp.11th, 2001 on The World Trade Center and The Pentagon. Like most Americans, he was shocked, but also angry. This song could have been the anthem for America's War on Terrorism.

*TRY LOVE ONE MORE TIME*
Written & Copyrighted by Eddie L. Groves
(From the CD "Southern Fried Twang")

VERSE ONE:
MAYBE TOMORROW WE CAN START ANEW
TRY TO PUT OUR LIVES BACK TOGETHER
PIECE BACK THE TWO BROKEN HEARTS
THE ONES WE TORE APART
OF EACH OTHERS

IF WE TRY, I KNOW WE CAN DO IT
WE CAN PUT OUR LIVES BACK TOGETHER AGAIN

CHORUS:
SO LETS GIVE IT ONE MORE TRY
DON'T OUR LOVE DESERVE A SECOND CHANCE
I STILL LOVE YOU AND IF YOU STILL LOVE ME
THEN WHY DON'T WE TRY LOVE ONE MORE TIME

VERSE TWO:
SO TOMORROW I'LL CALL YOU UP
AND WE CAN MAKE SOME PLANS TO MEET
AND TALK ABOUT WHY THINGS WENT WRONG
AND MAYBE WORK IT OUT
BETWEEN YOU AND ME

IF WE LET LOVE SHINE THROUGH I KNOW WE CAN DO IT
WE CAN PUT OUR LIVES BACK TOGETHER AGAIN

REPEAT CHORUS:
